College Days

It was a normal fall day, college students of many types, humans, gargoyles, mutants and New Olympians, were walking into the college called ’Manhattan University’.  There was a gargoyle girl named Luna, light blue skin and black hair, and Francis, a mutant turtle with purple and yellow hair were hanging out before the start of their senior year, Luna and Francis were waiting for Luna’s boyfriend, Kevin.

“Where is he?” Luna said. “He’ll be late, again,”

“Great,” Francis said as the bell rang. “I’ll see you,”

“You too,” Luna said as she walked into her writing class. After college Francis and Luna walked back to the apartment building.

“No Kevin?” Francis asked as they walked in.

“No,” Luna said as they got to an elevator. When they got in there was a man in the elevator with them.

“Are you going up?” He asked. He was a gargoyle with red skin, a beak, and white hair pulled up in a low ponytail.

“No where but,” Francis said.

“Floor 7 please,” Luna said.

“Ok, I’m on floor 8,” he said as the elevator went up to floor 7. “You stop, madams,”

“Thank,” Luna and Francis said as they got off and the door closed.

“Wow,” he said. “That gargress was beautiful.”

With Francis and Luna, Francis had went in her apartment, B13. Luna went up to hers and Kevin’s apartment, B20. When Luna walked in there were beer cans everywhere and Kevin was on the couch drinking another beer. Kevin was also a gargoyle with yellowish-greenish skin and sliver hair down to his shoulders.

“Kevin,” Luna said as she sat her staff down. “Where were you today? College started today.”

“Oh, I forgot,” Kevin said as he finished his beer and threw it on the floor. “What I miss?”

“I don’t know,” Luna said. “I’m not in any of your classes.”

“Ok,” Kevin said as Luna pulled out a list of books to get. “What’s that?”

“My book list,” Luna said. “I have to go get them.”

“Hey stay away from that one book store at the corner,”

“Why?”

“Because, a weird  beaked gargoyle works there and he is sick.”

“Whatever,” Luna said as she left to the book store. When she was outside, she headed toward the corner book store called ‘Manhattan Books & more’, Luna’s favorite book store since she was little. She walked in and went to a aisle where a guy was putting books away. “Excuse me, sir. But do you know where a book is?”

“What book, may I ask is it?” He asked and looked up. It was the same guy from the elevator.

“The books are ’Greek Art’ and ’Japanese writing’,” Luna said.

“Oh, They’re right here,” The guy said as he pulled out two books from the top row of books. “Is that all?”

“Yes,” Luna said. “I’ve seen you before, from the elevator.”

“Oh, yeah, you were with Francis, the weird turtle girl,”

“You know Francis?”

“Sadly enough yeah, she‘s dating my friend, Hamato Donatello,”

“Oh yeah,”

“My name is Brooklyn and you?”

“Luna,”

“Luna? The one that’s dating Kev--,”

“Don’t remind me, I dumped him,” Luna said as she walked over to the counter. Brooklyn followed on jumped over the counter like a skater. “Are you a skater?”

“I was,” Brooklyn said as he was bringing up the books’ prices. “In till I broke my leg.”

“I’m sorry,”

“It’s ok,” Brooklyn said. “That’s $15.99.”

“Here,” Luna said as she handed him a $20. “Keep the change,”

“Ok thanks,” Brooklyn said as she left.

“Brooklyn,” The boss called from the back room. “Shifts over.”

“Yes sir,” Brooklyn said as he checked out and left. “Hey, Luna.”

“Oh, you off work?”

“Yeah,” Brooklyn said as they walked in the apartment building and in the elevator. “So, why, may I ask, did you date Kevin?”

“He was nice but then he started drinking and doing drugs,” Luna said as she lean up against a wall.

“He took my girlfriend,”

“Who?”

“Her name was Helen, he took after our first date,”

“I’m sorry,”

“Its ok,” Brooklyn said as they got up to floor 7. “Your stop, ma’am.”

“Thanks,” Luna said as she got out.

“Hey Luna, The apartment next to me is open, if you want it,” Brooklyn said.

“I’ll think about it,” Luna said and the walked down the hallway.

“She’s beautiful,” Brooklyn said as the doors closed and he went to his apartment A16. He walked in and sat his staff down and turn on some classical music. “I should ask her out?” Then he started to dance by himself to the music.

Meanwhile, Luna walked up to her apartment and walked in. Kevin was with three other girls. Luna just walked to her room and packed her cloths and belongings. Kevin walked in.

“Luna, Where are you going?” Kevin asked in a drunken voice. “I was waiting for you. So we could have same fun.”

“NO!” Luna screamed. “KEVIN, GO AWAY!”

“Hell no,” Kevin said as he slapped her and she slide across the floor. Her books went everywhere. Kevin walked over to Luna and grabbed her by her arms and threw her over to the wall and the walked out of the room. “And I told you to stay away from the book store.” Luna then started crying.

“What did I get myself into?” Luna asked herself and got up and grabbed her staff and run out of her apartment and went up the stairs to Brooklyn’s place. When she knocked on the door.

“Coming,” A voice called of the other side. When the door, Brooklyn was standing there in his pants and his shirt was undone. “Luna, what’s wrong?”

“Its Kevin,” Luna said as she hugged Brooklyn. “It was so horribly.”

“What happened?” Brooklyn asked as he returned the hug and let her in. “Are you ok? Did he try to…?”

“No,” Luna said as he sat her down on the couch and sat down next to her. Then she explained what happened.

“What a asshole,” Brooklyn said as Luna started giggling. “What?”

“I didn’t know you cursed,”

“Oh, I don’t do that a lot,” Brooklyn said as he started laughing. Then someone walked in. It was Kevin.

“Luna, what are you doing?” Kevin said as Luna looked up and Brooklyn got up and looked at him.

“Get out,” Brooklyn said as Kevin tried do get near Luna and Brooklyn keep getting in his way.

“Move,” Kevin said as he tried to push Brooklyn but Brooklyn pushed him out the door. Kevin grabbed Brooklyn’s ponytail and pulled it hard. “She belongs to me.”

“I won’t let you hurt her anymore,” Brooklyn said as he grabbed Kevin and flipped him over his back. “So leave, now.”

“Whatever,” Kevin said as he left. As he turned the corner, Luna ran out to Brooklyn and hugged.

“Are you ok?” Luna asked as she started crying.

“I’m fine,” Brooklyn said as he hugged her back. Luna put her head on Brooklyn’s shoulder. Then out of the thin air, Kevin came back from the corner and tackled Brooklyn.

“BROOKLYN!” Luna yelled as a few people who lived on that floor looked out their doors. Kevin and Brooklyn then went through a widow right towards the street. Brooklyn and Kevin started gliding.
